nainital and beyond...summer of 2005

I,me,my backpack.and i think can be happy for ever. ofcourse i ll need money but that is too petty to discuss.wandering is probably the best thing to unwind.i am so much in love with traveling that i decided to write about some of the places i have visited in the last year.
moreover i turned 20 recently..and ma last-teen-year has been fab! so y not write about it..

nainital and beyond..summer of 2005:
people visit places.click photos.enjoy the crowd and all the regular stuff.then there is 'wandering'.things are unplanned.you keep moving from one place to another..just having fun.amidst those small things and smaler places you realize how much fun it is!!!
we drove to nainital(in our own car and ma dad driving).we reached nainital by early evening.frankly there is nothing much in nainital..except for a naini lake and a mall road and some regular tourist places..there are many lakes near nainitaland some of them are real beautiful
one of them is sattal.as the name suggests, it is a group of 7 lakes.some of them are joined and are frequented by tourists.but there is one small lake which is unexplored as in nobody goes there!a walk of 200 metres away from the road, into the jungles and you see a really beautiful 'green lake'.it is a very small lake ,just over 70m by 70m.it is covered on all sides by tall trees and mountains.completely untouched by tourists(we were the only ppl there) it feels like another world.it is probably oneof the most beautiful lakes i have ever visited..no human noise.look above and all you see is trees and mountains!

we dint stay long at nainital.we went to ranikhet and then the most beautiful destination of all- KAUSANI
mahatma gandhi called it the switzerland of india..and not for no reason at all.it is still a 'wild' place when compared to other hill stations, famous only for its sunrise.but the tranquility of the place is inspiring.we put up in a small lodge.the best thing about this place was that it faced east so that sunrise cud be seen from the balcony over the morning cuppa of tea.our lodge was a lil far from the city(and i never saw the city)one could stroll on the winding roads and come to a dead end.sit by the gorge and wonder about the nature..
but the most touching and etching thing on the trip was :dinner at kausani
there was a small family in kausani and they cooked food for you u(ofcourse you have to pay them)..but it was worthwhile!
a small home.a small balcony by the cliff.through the balcony you could see the valley and tiny lights lit far away some1000 metres down ..it was probably the best scene one cud have asked for!sitting in the balcony and chatting while waiting for the food to be prepared,i felt that the trip was all worth it!then the food.perfect home made food!that simple evening i realized the beauty of nature.it is hard to describe it but it is all so vivid in my mind.
next morning we got up early to see the sunrise..but clouds played the spoilsport.but who cares?? the food and ambience of last night had proved the stay was worthwile..we came back to nainital and then back to delhi
the dinner at kausani and the after dinner walk along the unlit wavering road was the high point of the entire trip.
